Echinodorus uruguayensis has long, narrow, transparent, dark-green
leaves, making it a very beautiful solitary plant for large aquariums. The leaf
length and width vary considerably. In good growing conditions it forms an
unusual number of leaves, and a nutritious bottom and CO2 addition
and slightly acidic water promote growth. A number of species formerly regarded
as distinct are now included under the name E. uruguayensis.
